We struggled with many different solutions—not all window suppliers can do something like this. [...] The other Euro suppliers that are present in the US high performance market didn’t really have that capability, or weren’t necessarily interested in customizing or working with us on that, for the size of order that we had. There’s a lot of good people out there, but there was a willingness to customize that was expressed by BEWISO pretty early on which made them really attractive.

When they undertook this restoration, Jo notes, “We had lived in our home for over 40 years, during which we had made very little changes to the look of our interior. I was really nervous about the window upgrade because I had heard that energy and sound efficient windows had really bulky frames.” With their all-wood frames and extremely thin profiles, BEWISO’s Anne windows were the perfect choice. Anne systems are available in a variety of woods, including, among others, spuce, accoya, and oak. Jo and Sydelle chose oak, which not only seamlessly matches the existing wood details within their home, but also has excellent sound-insulation and structural benefits. Sydelle describes how, “Our bedroom is located on the exterior wall facing the street. We used to hear all sorts of conversations from people passing by. It was almost as if we were walking alongside them. With the new windows from BEWISO we can't even hear the garbage trucks that used to wake us up every morning.
